“Open Ended” versus “Closed Ended” functional training! Think about it!

I don’t like to “pre-plan” a client’s” (or my own) workout any more than I need to! Why? There are many reasons, I’ll name a couple. #1- let’s say I preplanned a client for a lower body workout and the client gets to the session but is complaining of leg pain because he/she had just hit their knee on the edge of the car door and it hurts and is a little swollen. What to do? But if I don’t preplan but I know my client’s “health history” and their “goals” then we can proceed with something from the upper body. No problem! #2- if I preplan a client’s workout then it’s a good bet that I am “limiting” them from what their “potential” is. Why? Because everything is in writing so I probably won’t go beyond that “writing” to find what they can “really do!” Think of it like “Open vs. Closed Ended questions. For closed ended you’re likely to get a one word answer but if it’s “Open Ended “ the person is likely to give you much more amount and a more detailed answer! Which do you think will promote a more & better conversation? Thanks, “The” Trainer/Inside Out Fitness #openendedlearning #openendedplay #openended #openendedlearning
