How many times have you heard about people setting goals to lose a tremendous amount of bodyfat and they do it, but check back with them in 6-12 months and many times you find that they’ve gained it all back and then some! Why? All they cared about was losing it, not managing their bodies afterwards! — “The” Trainer Outdoor Training Specialist /Consultant- @61!/15 yr. experience as RN in CCU

“The skills and mental processes required to reach a goal are different than those required for sustainability! — “The” Trainer

An example is the Saturn V which was a massive, three-stage, liquid-fueled rocket developed by NASA to launch astronauts to the moon during the Apollo program. It was not developed to be a long term “goal”! It was designed to ‘win a race’ (between USA and Russia) to see who could get to the moon and back first! The USA won the race! But it was never intended for long term advancement of space flight! So we let many developments go by the wayside and if we were to try and go back to the moon today, you’d find that it would be as difficult or more so than it was in the 1960’s! Why? The Saturn V was (and still is) the most powerful rocket ever built in the world! That means we (USA) went in a totally different direction and never went that far in space after that so what we’ve been doing is good but it doesn’t prepare us to get to deep space again! We’ve been working on different goals! The same thing goes for our fitness goals!
