I was just some hick from a Kentucky farm and had never heard those words before? Summa cum laude?? Ok so I guess that’s great but I got tired of looking at computer screens and my mom was in and out of hospitals dying of cancer… so I watched what the nurses did and decided to go back to school to become someone who helps others like my mom! – “The” Trainer Outdoor Training Specialist /Consultant- @61!

Wow! But guess what? I, along with most folks, ended up looking at a lot of computer screens anyway! – “The” Trainer Outdoor Training Specialist /Consultant- @61!

oh no, I’ve forgotten everything! My 1st day as a real RN (nurse…)! – “The” Trainer Outdoor Training Specialist /Consultant- @61!

It has arrived! My first day at not just playing but actually being a nurse! This may have been my scariest day on planet earth! Keep in mind that throughout my nursing school days I wasn’t allowed to actually do any procedures on any real person! They (nursing school) had us do all procedures in fake things like starting IV’s on fake arms that had shown all of the past needle marks so well that I could toss that darned needle from 10 feet away and still start an IV! So anything I would do to a real patient would be my first time! That included things like “ng (nasogastric) tubes,” “urinary catheters,” working with “arterial lines” etc! But I made it through somehow! – “The” Trainer Outdoor Training Specialist /Consultant- @61!

When it’s your 1st day of nursing clinical rotations! From the farm to a place of fear! – “The” Trainer Outdoor Training Specialist /Consultant- @61!

Oh my was I scared! I was just a very shy boy(man?) who had grown up on a farm in Kentucky and I’d only been in a hospital when my mom had died of cancer but now this “backwards” back country hick was going to the hospital to do something called, “nursing clinical rotation!”
