Cheetah is now 'running for its very survival' - BBC News

The cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus) is the world’s fastest land animal, built for speed with a slender body, long legs, and a flexible spine, allowing it to reach speeds of up to 70 mph in short bursts to hunt prey like gazelles. Key features include a tawny coat with solid black spots, a small head with distinctive black “tear marks” running from its eyes, and a long tail for balance. While females are solitary, males often form coalitions, and the species is currently listed as vulnerable due to habitat loss and human-wildlife conflict.
