Mom was once a “Catholic Nun!” Sure made life interesting!

My mom, understandably, was big on Christmas and Easter! At Christmastime she was adamant about nobody “arguing!” But there was still plenty of small “fights” happening! I often wondered if she hadn’t made such a big deal about “not arguing” if that wouldn’t have actually decreased it all by itself? I’m thinking about the idea that Wayne Dyer and others have said that they believe “whatever you put your mind to is what will take place”, whether it be good or bad. Well, my mom died a long time ago so we’ll never find out now! Another tradition based around Christmas was, of course, going to church. My mom liked to go to midnight mass on Christmas Eve but she didn’t drive so my dad had to take her there and so that meant she didn’t always get to go because my dad was an “early to bed early to rise” kind of guy! I had four brothers and I think we only did midnight mass maybe one to two times in all the years! Easter was another big (but not as big as Christmas) traditional day for us! It was a little different because on Christmas my mom was a “stickler” about everything being more church related than Easter. Example: my mom would get upset if you wrote “Xmas” because she said you were taking “Christ” out of “Christmas!” But on Easter, she would accept the non-traditional Easter ideas along with the traditional! Example: she would be “big” on going to church and kneeling and praying at all the “stations” in church but she was equally excited about “Easter egg hunts” and the “like” that had nothing to do with her “traditional Easter in the church” ways! Thanks!
